“To move, to breathe, to fly, to float,
To gain all while you give,
To roam the roads of lands remote,
To travel is to live.”
― Hans Christian Andersen
More About Jill
Helping others experience the world is my passion.
I spent the first part of my life wanting to experience it all. I was an exchange student three times over, living in Finland, Israel and Denmark as well as time living one summer in Slovenia. Since these adventures, and now that my three kids have reached adolescence and young adulthood, I have worked to help others experience the world either through youth exchange or study abroad. I want to help people of ALL ages to keep traveling and have new adventures.
I work two part-time positions at St. Olaf College - in one job I send students to Budapest to learn about Hungarian mathematics pedagogy, and in the other job I bring Kierkegaard scholars from all over the world to the college. While at St. Olaf, I have booked travel for many people over the years. I am a member of the Northfield Rotary Club and volunteer with the Rotary Youth Exchange working with the high school youth exchange program, specifically sending kids to and from Denmark and Sweden. It truly energizes me to help create these travel opportunities for others and to hear from the participants just how much their experiences have positively affected them.
I have earned certification through Certified Senior TravALZ Companions. I have up-to-date CPR, First Aid and AED training.
In high school and through out college I worked as a CNA with both geriatrics and pediatrics. More recently, I have been a caregiver for my mom who had dementia and who we were able to care for at home until her passing in 2021.
I'm conversationally fluent in Danish, with a limited understanding of Norwegian.
I have annual background checks done both through St. Olaf College and through North Star Rotary Youth Exchange. Contact me to be directed to both of these organizations for reference checks.
